The HISS is a real-time, integrated, web-based CBRNE data acquisition, analytics, visualization, human health risk assessment, emergency response, warning, and reporting application that
- enables users to collect CBRNE concentrations in the environment before, during and after terrorist attacks
- allows users to analyze CBRNE data spatially and temporally
- alerts the National Incident Management Centers and on site responders of the advancing CBRNE plumes
- provides real-time 3-dimensional data visualization and graphs so that users can instantly understand complex site conditions as well as the trends and magnitude of CBRNE threats
- enables decision makers to comprehensively and accurately assess site conditions in real time, rank potential CBRNE-derived risks, and timely produce actionable intelligence
- enhances communications between the National Incident Management Centers, first responders and communities (or the Battlefield Command Center and troops) during a CBRNE triggered emergency to avert crises and save lives.
HISS is easily scaleable and very flexible in linking with other homeland security software modules that utilize the same databases. It can quickly and inexpensively be modified to incorporate many manually operated homeland security data and incident management routines.
